In short, try reading something that you have never read before and absorb what's in it for a change! What is more important in adding that excitement to your life is having the ability to practice what not only is healthy but is challenging to it as well. This is the same as maintaining your brain's intellectual state and its capacity to fill up all those spaces with memories that you will be able to recall in the future. Developing Leadership Qualities

By Bart Icles

Quality leadership is a necessary asset found in all successful organizations. Look at any flourishing company, group, or committee and you will find a capable leader behind all of them. Many people ask the question, what makes a successful leader? Is it a natural born talent, or is it something you can learn? Why do some people inspire others to be better and make positive decisions, and others do the opposite. Throughout this article I hope to answer some of these difficult questions.

There are many different types of leaders in the business world. Some of these are natural leaders that have fit into this role their entire lives. Others were not born with strong leadership characteristics, but have developed them through intense training and leadership development programs. Most successful leaders have a combination of the two. It does no good to be a leader if you are not educated on proper procedure and have an in-depth understanding of how things need to be run. Every company has different training programs to develop their employees. Here is a broad version of what most companies do to further their training.

Companies first need to help their employee find his/her individual leadership qualities. Like we already stated, some people have stronger characteristics of this than others. Even with this separation of individuals, that concept does not preclude anyone from being a leader. Many people acquire leadership skills with time and exposure. This means it is possible for anyone to become a high-ranking leader.

The next step in developing a leader is to become familiar with the collective organization. All members of a team serve an important role. An organization will have a division of leaders and followers. Both parties serve together to fulfill the objectives of the organization. It is important for leaders to understand the inner workings of the firm and be able to communicate the status of the people working under him/her.

The last step in the training process is to learn how to promote comradeship between your employees. It is no secret that people are going to work harder when they enjoy what they are doing. You need to learn how to be a leader people like to follow. This means you need to always show a good example to the others around you. It does no good to have all the leadership qualities if no one is willing to follow.

In order to become a leader there are a few simple steps. First, the employee has to find his inner strength and believe in himself. Next, the individual has to learn the ins and outs of the company. Finally, the leader needs to gain the respect of his coworkers and gain followers. Through these steps companies can improve their strategic thinking and overall performance. - 18298

Herbs have been known to man for thousands of years. They were the first medicines ever used. And they provided the blueprint for the development of all of our modern drugs and drug therapies. St. John's Wort

One of the oldest anxiety herbs known to man, St. John's Wort has been used for over 2000 years. While it's quite effective at reducing small to moderate anxiety, it also comes with more pronounced side effects than other herbal remedies. In particular, it can interfere with other drugs that you might be taking, so you need to exercise more care when using this herb.

Passion Flower

Passion Flower is a plant native to the Southeastern United States, parts of Argentina, and Brazil. It has been typically used as both an aid to digestion and as a natural tranquilizer. A small dose taken just before bedtime has been known to promote a restful sleep.

So you have a lot of choices to pick from. Keep in mind that you may have to try more than one or two to find out what works best for you.

Some Things You Should Know About Psychics

By Brandon

Everyone wants certainty in their life...certainty is perhaps even more important than happiness. Many people, who live uncertain lives, want to know what's going to happen...if they will find true love, if they should change jobs, if they should move to a new town, and so on.

Some of these people consult psychics, whom they believe can see into the future and tell them what they want to know. Psychics are people who have "extra sensory perception," and can see into the future.

There are different varieties of psychic phenomena. A "medium" is, to use the dictionary definition, a "person through whom the spirits of the dead are alleged to be able to contact the living."

A "psychic" is a person "a person who is allegedly sensitive to psychic influences or forces; a medium" although psychics don't necessarily contact the dead... a medium is always a psychic but psychic isn't always a medium.

Some psychics perform their readings by holding something that belongs to the person in question, others read from tarot cards, and so on.

Many prominent people throughout history have believed in the powers of psychics - for example Franklin Delano Roosevelt, while president, consulted a psychic, as did Woodrow Wilson. Perhaps most famously, Nancy Reagan consulted a psychic while her husband was in office.

So if you're going to consult a psychic, you're in good company. Nevertheless, it's always well to "test drive" a psychic as you would any professional whom you were thinking of hiring to do a job for you. Indeed, it would be even more important to "vet" a psychic, since you'll be trusting them to give you advice on your love life and perhaps even your business career.

You can visit a psychic in your home town...or at least one who lives close to you. This would seem to be the best way to go about it, as most psychics practice psychometry - they hold something that belongs to you, and get impressions from it, which they use to give you advice.

There are also plenty of online psychic websites. If you're thinking of consulting a psychic, read through all of these websites, to see the kinds of powers they claim, and perhaps most importantly, to compare their prices, before you commit to one or the other. - 18298

5 Tips to Choosing Personal Empowerment for More Fulfillment

By Deborah Lindholm

Most of us wish for an empowering and fulfilling life, but it is not always a simple thing to achieve. Choosing how to start or what priorities to set isn't the easiest thing to work out. But you deserve this life you long for, and attaining it is not as difficult as you may think.

Rest assured attaining fulfillment is possible. Begin your path towards personal empowerment with these five simple steps.

#1 Modify your thoughts. One of the most powerful steps towards leading a fulfilling life is to focus on the positive. This means eliminating, or at least significantly reducing that negative self-talk we all participate in from time to time.

Concentrate on positive self-talk, respect yourself and embrace both your strengths and weaknesses as part of who you are is a great place to start living an empowered and fulfilling life.

#2 Understand how all aspects of your health make you who you are. From physical health, mental and emotional health, to even spiritual health are all parts intricately woven to make something whole - you. If any one of these areas is off track, your entire being becomes out of balance. Let's take for example, you are depressed, it affects your health. Stress can affect both emotional and physical health. Without confidence or faith in your spirituality, your emotional and physical health are once again affected.

In order to achieve fulfillment, balance all areas of your being is what you should be striving for. Work towards good physical health, for spiritual health; seek spiritual guidance and get rid of those emotions limiting your ability to live a complete and balanced life.

#3 Practice personal care. Putting yourself first and foremost on your to do list isn't a selfish act, it's actually a very selfless act. If you're not happy and fulfilled, those around you will not be getting the best from you. If you want to live a fulfilled and balanced life, begin by setting aside time every day to take care of yourself.

Meditate, walk or do some sort of physical exercise, eat for health, laugh, pray if that brings you spiritual contentment, read, take a bubble bath or get a massage. Little bits of self care can go a long way toward personal empowerment and fulfillment.

#4 Learn something new. Chances are there is a list of things you want to do and learn. Perhaps it is to go skydiving or rock climbing or maybe it is something safer like learning to knit, cook, or learn financial management strategies. Life is exciting and powerful when we're engaged in it and learning something new is a great way to become engaged and empowered.

#5 Set, and achieve, goals. Something almost magical happens inside when you achieve a goal you've set for yourself. It fills you with pride, confidence and sets you on the path toward future success. The key to success when achieving goals is to set challenging yet attainable goals. For example if you want to start and own your own business, set smaller goals like taking a business planning course. Once you achieve that then you'll set another smaller goal all on the path toward achieving your single long term goal of starting a business.

Personal empowerment begins by choosing the path and pursuing it. Once that choice is made, each small step you take will change the approach you have on life, and will become the largest impact on your way to personal fulfillment. - 18298

The Cure for Despair

By Joe Vitale

During dinner the other night, one of the people in our group looked at me and asked the question I didn't want to hear -

"How did you become homeless?"

By now most people have heard my story of being on the streets of Dallas in the late 1970s and struggling in poverty in Houston for many years after that. Some of it is explained in my new audioprogram, The Awakening Course.

But I had never explained exactly how I ended up in such dire circumstances.

When I answered the question at dinner, everyone at the table stared at me.

The woman who asked the question sat there with her mouth open and eyes un-blinking.

She asked, "Why have you never said this before?"

My friend Mark Ryan was sitting there, also staring, and said, "As long as I've known you, you've never told this story before. It's riveting. This changes everything."

Changes everything?

Riveting?

They all said I had to tell the story now.

"Given the current financial crisis and with people losing their homes and their jobs, this story needs to be told more than ever before," Mark said.

I heard them and realized I agreed.

So here's the story...

I knew I wanted to be an author when I was a teenager. I wanted to write books and plays that made people happy. Everywhere I looked I saw un-happy people. I believed I could help them with humor and stories.

During that time of the mid-1970s, I watched sports. I don't today but back then the Dallas Cowboys were the rage. Roger Staubach and Tom Landry were heroes. I got caught up in the excitement and felt the place for me to make my name was in Dallas, Texas.

I lived in Ohio at the time. Born and raised there. I worked on the railroad as a trackman, doing heavy labor all day long, working weekends and summers since the age of five.

I saved my money, packed up my bag, and took a bus to Dallas. It took three days to get there.

I was lost in the big city, of course. Being born in a small town in Ohio didn't prep me for the hustle and bustle of a city the size of Dallas.

Before long, I wanted out.

But I still wanted to be an author.

At that time major companies were building oil and gas pipelines in Alaska and the Middle East, and offering to pay big bucks if you were willing to go to either place.

I wasn't keen on going to a foreign country and doing more labor, but I saw a chance to make money, save it, and then go on a sabbatical where I could write for a few months or even a year.

It seemed like a brilliant strategy.

I answered one of the newspaper ads that promised to get me pipeline work at a extraordinary hourly wage. I went in their office, met an upbeat sales person, and ended up giving him all of my money - my entire savings, about a thousand dollars at the time - based on his promise that I'd have overseas pipeline work in a week or two.

You might guess part of what happened next - but you won't guess all of it.

Within a week or so, the company that took all of my money went out of business.

Their doors were closed, no one answered the phone, and no forwarding addresses could be found.

Shortly after that, the company went bankrupt.

And not long after that, the owner of the company committed suicide.

There was no one left to try to get my money back.

I was alone.

I was broke.

I was in Dallas, far from home.

I confess that my ego got in the way here. My family back in Ohio would have taken me back in and welcomed me back home. But I was head strong and determined to somehow survive.

Well, I did survive - by sleeping in church pews, on the steps of a post office, in a bus station.

It wasn't an easy time, as you can imagine, and I never used to talk about it. It was too embarrassing.

When I told this story at dinner, everyone agreed I had to share it with you.

They said that people are finding themselves in the same situation - they trusted a government, or a corporation, or a person, or a bank, and now they are losing their homes and their jobs.

Hearing that I went through the same thing three decades ago and not only survived but prospered to a level that the Joe Vitale of thirty years ago could hardly imagine, ought to be inspiring to you, too.

I got off the streets and out of poverty by constantly working on myself - reading self-help books, taking action, scrambling at times by taking whatever work I could find, but always always always focusing on my vision: to one day be an author of books that helped people be happy and stay inspired.

If you're in a place right now that doesn't feel so good or seem too safe, I urge you to remind yourself that this is only temporary.

This is the cure for despair.

As I say in my book, The Attractor Factor, this is simply current reality, and current reality can change.

You can help it along by doing what you know and need to do.

But remember, the sun will shine again.

It always does.

Your job right now is to focus on what you want and keep it in sight.

Yes, keep taking action;

yes, stay positive and surround yourself with positive people;

yes, be of support to others.

But remember, if I or anyone else can survive homelessness, poverty, job loss, or any other hard time, then you can survive it, too.

Please hang in there.

One last thing:

I admit that there were times I wanted to throw in the towel and get myself out of this life.

Thank God I stuck around. Had I left early, I would have missed a life of magic and wonder, success and fame I never dreamed of before, priceless relationships and experiences, and more.

I have no idea what wonderful good is headed your way - and neither do you.

What you have to do is stay the course and follow your heart.

And remember -

Expect Miracles.

Ao Akua,

Dr. Joe Vitale - 18298
